Man arrested in connection with death of Kilkenny woman

A man in his 30s has today been arrested by gardaí investigating the death of a woman in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny, last Friday.

Siobhan Stapleton, 51, was found with serious injuries at her home at Glebe Lodge Kilfane between 1.20pm and 1.40pm on Friday afternoon.

She died while being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Today, gardaí arrested a man in the Thomastown area.

He is being detained at Thomastown garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
