Man arrested after woman's body discovered

A man has been arrested after the body of a woman in her 20s was found in a flat last night.

The body was discovered by officers in Dun Laoghaire Co Dublin at 11pm and the property was immediately sealed off for a forensic examination.

Gardai arrested a man aged in his early 30s at around 5am today in connection with their investigation.

“The man is currently being detained at Dun Laoghaire garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984,” said a Garda spokesman.

Gardaí said officers are investigating all circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body, in the George’s Place complex in Dun Laoghaire.

The Garda Technical Bureau is examining the scene today and the office of the state pathologist was notified.
