Man arrested after stand-off at Dublin housing estate

A man has been arrested following a stand-off with armed Gardaí in south Dublin this afternoon.

The Emergency Response Unit was called to assist Gardaí who are understood to have been serving an arrest warrant on a man for suspected burglary at 3.15pm.

Neighbours say the man had barricaded himself into the house and threatened to shoot Gardaí.

Several residents were evacuated as a precaution.
