Man arrested after aggravated burglaries in Cork

Gardaí investigating two aggravated burglaries in Cork have arrested a man.

In the first incident two men broke into a house in Youghal in east Cork in the early hours of this morning.

A man in his 60s was assaulted and tied up. He later managed to free himself and raise the alarm.

A second man who is a publican was later assaulted when two men broke into his house.

Gardaí arrested a man in his early twenties at the scene. He is being questioned at Midleton Garda Station.

They are searching for a second man.
