Man appears in court in connection with Limerick drugs seizure

A 43-year-old man has appeared in court in Limerick charged in connection with a drugs seizure in the city at the weekend.

John Ryan with an address at Airmount Terrace, St Patrick's Road is accused of having an assortment of drugs, worth more than €1m, for sale or supply.

The drugs were seized at an apartment complex on the Ennis Road last Saturday afternoon during a planned garda operation.

The defendant, who was remanded in custody, is also accused of possession of a handgun and an assortment of ammunition.
