Man airlifted to hospital after Waterford crash

Gardaí in Co Waterford are investigating a crash which has left a young man fighting for his life.

The man was airlifted to Waterford Regional hospital following the incident outside the village of Ballymacabry on a dangerous stretch of road near the grotto on the Dungarvan side of the village.

Gardaí have confirmed that a lorry and two cars were involved in the crash at 8.15am today.

Emergency services attended the scene and the road is currently closed.

Gardaí are redirecting traffic with larger vehicles through the Vee, and cars are being sent through Mellory onto Newcastle in Co Tipperary.
