Man, 20, pleads guilty to serious assault of 10-week-old baby in Louth

A 20-year-old man accused of seriously assaulting a 10-week-old baby girl has pleaded guilty at Dundalk Circuit Court.

The defendant this morning admitted recklessly or intentionally causing serious harm to the infant at a location in County Louth on 13 March 2017.

The court heard a significant number of reports would have to be prepared for the sentencing hearing.

Judge Patrick Quinn adjourned the case until the end of April for mention and remanded the accused on continuing bail.
