Major traffic diversions in place throughout Cork

Major traffic disruption is expected throughout Cork city this morning following the collapse of the Quay Wall between the Skew Bridge and Water Street junction yesterday.

The N8/Lower Glanmire Road remains closed and signed diversions are in place for inbound traffic over the Tivoli flyover.

An outbound diversion is also in place from McCurtain Street, up Summerhill North, with the exception of local residents.

Drivers are advised to divert through Mayfield or the Jack Lynch Tunnel, while Gardaí say the North or South Ring Roads can be used as alternative routes as well.
