Love/Hate actor appears in court in connection with armed robbery

Love/Hate actor Stephen Clinch has appeared in court today accused of stealing more than €50,000 during an armed robbery at the Gate Hotel on Dublin’s Parnell Street on Monday morning.

He played the role of Fran’s rival Noely in the TV series and will be remembered for a graphic prison scene in the season five finale.

The 43-year-old, of Millbrook Grove, Kilbarrack, Dublin 13 has also been charged with having a firearm with intent to commit a robbery.

His bail application was objected to and a full hearing will be heard later this afternoon.

Hugh McWeeney of Main Street, Belmayne, Malahide Road, Dublin is facing the same charges and was remanded in custody until next week.
