Limerick motorway closed after earlier fatal collision

Motorists are being warned that parts of the M7 motorway in Limerick remain closed this evening following an earlier crash.

A man in his early 30s died when the car he was driving crashed near Junction 28 Castletroy.

The scene has been preserved for an examination resulting in the motorway being closed northbound between Junction 29 Ballysimon and Junction 28 Castletroy.

Diversions are in place with motorists being diverted through Newcastle and Annacotty and back onto the M7 at Junction 28.

The west bound carriageway will remain open.

Traffic is busy in the area as a result.
