LÉ Niamh rescues 358 migrants from wooden barge in Mediterranean

The crew on board the LÉ NIAMH has rescued 358 migrants from a wooden barge in the Mediterranean today.

The operation took place 110 km northwest of Tripoli.

Those on board had been fleeing towards Europe.

They are now being brought to port and are receiving food, water and medical attention where required.
