The LE Niamh has rescued 124 people from a rubber boat in the Mediterranean this morning - and is now on its way to a second rescue operation.
The Irish Naval vessel arrived at the first scene, just off the north east coast of Tripoli at around 8am.
Two rhibs (rigid-hulled inflatable boats) were deployed.
Some 107 men, 14 women and three children were rescued and brought on board the LE Niamh where they were given food, water and medical assistance.
