Latest: Man released from custody following Rosslare death

Update 9.35pm: A man in his 50s, who had been detained at Wexford Garda Station as part of an investigating into the death of a man at Rosslare Europort, has been released without charge from Garda custody and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Earlier: Gardaí appeal for witnesses after man killed at Rosslare Europort

Gardaí have launched an appeal for information after an alleged fatal assault in Wexford last night.

A truck driver in his 50s was found dead at Rosslare Europort.

It is believed two men who were both truck drivers have involved an altercation shortly before 7pm yesterday.

One of the men in his 50s was seriously injured in the assault and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man in his 50s was arrested shortly after the incident and is being held at Wexford Garda station.

Gardaí want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the alleged altercation between 5.30pm and 6.15pm at Rosslare Europort.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out at Wexford General Hospital this afternoon.
