Kerry family fighting for medical trial for daughter

A Kerry family say they will fight for a place on a potentially life-saving medical trial for their daughter.

Five-year-old Saoirse Hefferan suffers from a rare neurodegenerative disorder.

Last week her family were told by doctors in the US that she had failed to qualify for a place on a US government funded trial.

A new trial for November or December has now offered fresh hope for the Heffernan family.
