Justice Minister refuses to rule out coalition with Fianna Fáil

The Justice Minister has refused to rule out the possibility of a coalition with Fianna Fáil after the General Election.

Frances Fitzgerald said her party is clear preference is for the current government to be returned.

Minister Fitzgerald added she has no wish to be part of any government involving Sinn Fein.

However she was less clear when asked about the possibility of doing a deal with Fianna Fáil.

“It is arrogant to go to a scenario after an election when in face at this point we are coming up to an election.

“The people will decide and I think for me as Minister of Justice in a Fine Gael Labour Government, is to ask the people, to highlight the work we have done and to ask for their support based on our record.”
