Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald to officially open Cork's new jail

Tánaiste and Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald will officially open Cork's new €45m prison today.

The new facility which houses almost 300 prisoners, opened last February with improved conditions.

The prison is built on a six-acre site on Rathmore Road.
