Irish man killed in daylight shooting at Spanish resort

An Irish man has been shot dead at a holiday resort in Spain.

The man, who is reported to have been in his 30s, was shot three times at around 11.30am today in Angel de Miraflores, which is between the Costa del Sol resorts of Marbella and Fuengirola.

He has not yet been named, but is understood to be an Irish citizen.

The shooting happened at a gated estate in the resort.

Locals said the gunman was masked and left the scene in a car which was later found abandoned.
