Irish Greyhound Board: Five welfare cases currently under investigation

The Irish Greyhound Board says five cases are currently under investigation following calls to its care line.

It was set up a month ago over concerns about the treatment of animals in the industry.

The IGB says two further cases are being looked into by the Irish Coursing Club and a local authority.

Eight cases that have been investigated by IGB Welfare Officers are now closed.

One 'Fixed Payment Notice' was issued as a result of those investigations.
