Investigations are continuing into an attempted shooting in Dublin last night.

Gardaí have confirmed that shots were fired in the Islandbridge area at around 7pm.

However, no one was injured in the incident.

It's believed a 35-year-old man was travelling in his car when the vehicle was struck by another - an 08-D registered red Honda Civic.

Two men exited that vehicle before firing a number of shots at the fleeing victim, who successfully escaped uninjured into the Bellevue Apartments.

One gunman is described as 5'8" in height, wearing a grey jacket and blue jeans. No details were available on the second suspect's appearance.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Kilmainham Garda Station.
