INO to consider holding strike ballot

The Irish Nurses Organisation is due to consider holding a ballot for all-out strike action at its annual conference in Co Cavan today.

The largest nurses' union in the country is considering the move as part of its long-running campaign for improved pay and reduced working hours for public-hospital nurses.

The organisation is also due to debate a motion today on establishing a national campaign of resistance against cutbacks in the health service.
