Doctors are warning that they are seeing increased incidents of whooping cough among babies in the Longford area.

The illness known as Pertussis can have serious and even fatal consequences for infants up to 3 months of age.

GPs are urging pregnant women to consider getting vaccinated to protect their unborn baby from the condition.
