Icy conditions linger on roads

Motorists are being advised to take care on the roads due to lingering icy conditions in areas of Kildare and Limerick.

The N3 Cavan/Dublin Rd has just reopened both ways following a serious collision this morning south of Ross Cross.

Black ice has reportedly thawed in the area and the council has treated the road for a fuel spill as well.

Meanwhile FG TD John O'Mahony has been unharmed following a minor collision yeaterday evening.

The car in which he was travelling in skidded on frost on the approach road into swinford at approx 7pm last night.
