Icy conditions cause problems on the roads

Icy conditions continue to cause problems for motorists around the country this evening.

In Connacht gardaí are advising against any unnecessary journeys.

In Cork it is dangerous on secondary routes around Fermoy, Macroom and Mallow, while in Meath it is icy on the N3 at Dunshaughlin and on the Dunboyne Road.

It is very icy on all secondary routes in Kilkenny, while icy conditions are also reported in Clare, Limerick, Donegal - particularly around Letterkenny - Athlone and Tullamore.
