HSE investigation after a patient fell from the first floor of University Hospital Limerick

The HSE is investigating after a patient attending University Hospital Limerick fell from a first floor at the hospital last week.

The man is believed to be in a serious condition.

The HSE are not in a position to divulge information regarding his injuries to the media.

The man is said to have walked out of the Emergency Department before making his way to a mezzanine from where he fell to the ground floor.

The hospital has said they are aware of the incident and the incident is "under review".
