Health service protest set for Galway

A major public rally is to be held in Galway city this morning at 10am in opposition to any cuts in health services across the west.

It follows concern that services and wards at University Hospital Galway and Merlin Park will close as a result of a cost-cutting plan.

The HSE West had a deficit of €45m at the end of July.
