Guns and ammunition seized from stolen car in Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin have seized guns and ammunition, discovered in a stolen car, on Casement Avenue in Finglas.

The blue coloured Nissan Pulsar had been taken from the Dublin 13 area two weeks ago.

Uniformed Gardaí discovered the car while patrolling the area shortly before 3pm yesterday afternoon and were assisted in a search and recovery operation, by local Detective Units.

They discovered two firearms, ammunition and a fuel canister.

The car and its remaining contents were seized for technical examination.

No arrests have been made and investigations are on going.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
