Green Party chairman has no confidence in O'Dea

The Green Party chairman Dan Boyle has said he does not have confidence in the Defence Minister Willie O'Dea.

In a message posted on twitter tonight, Senator Boyle said Mr O'Dea's situation is compromised and he does not have confidence in him.

He also said there is "probably a few chapters in this story yet".

Earlier, Mr O'Dea survived a confidence vote in the Dáil with the help of his Green Party colleagues.

Opposition parties had called for his resignation after he admitted making a false statement to the high court last year.
