Govt to review taxi industry

A review of the taxi industry is underway by the Department of Transport.

It follows reports that a number of taxis that are not roadworthy are operating in Dublin and that they passed the NCT after cash was handed over.

The Public Transport Minister Alan Kelly, who met with the National Transport Authority this morning, has said he is conducting a full scale review of the industry to clean up the sector.
