Govt to issue school guidelines on gay students

New guidelines for school principals are being issued today on including lesbian, gay and bisexual students in school policies.

The guide is being launched by Education Minister Ruairí Quinn and it is the first time a government minister will address the issue of supporting lesbian and gay students.

Eoin Collins, Director of Policy Change with the Gay and Lesbian Equality Network, has said it is a positive step towards creating a better environment for all school students.
