Gardaí to appeal for more information over attack on college student in Kildare

Gardaí investigating a brutal attack on a college student in County Kildare at the weekend are expected to issue a further appeal for information later.

The 18-year-old suffered serious head injuries in the assault outside the Moyglare Abbey Estate in Maynooth shortly before 8.30pm on Sunday night.

The woman, who is originally from Castleblayney in Co. Monaghan, was taken to Connolly Hospital in Dublin's Blanchardstown.

The university said in a statement: “The safety and wellbeing of all our students is of the utmost importance to us. The university is working closely with the gardaí and offering advice and support services to all students concerned about this incident.”
