Gardaí still seeking to identify man killed in Carlow yesterday

Gardaí are still trying to identify a young man knocked down and killed by a van in Co Carlow yesterday.

The victim, who is believed to have been in his mid 20s, was hit while walking along the Tullow to Ballon Road at around 5am in the morning.

Detectives have issued his description in the hopes that family members may come forward.

He is more than six feet tall, well built, with short red hair.

His body has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital.
