Gardaí seeking owners of property recovered after car stopped near Tuam

Gardaí are looking for the owners of property recovered from a car near Tuam yesterday.

Items including a camera, fishing rods, phones and tobacco were recovered when a car was stopped by gardaí, on active patrol as part of Operation Thor, on the N17 at around 3.45pm yesterday afternoon.

It is believed that the items recovered are the proceeds of criminal activity counties Mayo, Galway and Clare in recent days.

An sum of cash and a quantity of cannabis herb (pending analysis) was also seized.

The men, who are in their 20s and 40s, were arrested at the scene and are being held at Tuam Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
