Gardaí release man after Athlone drugs seizure

Gardaí in Athlone have released without charge a young man who was questioned in relation to a drugs seizure in the town yesterday evening.

Over €50,000 worth of cannabis resin was found when a car was stopped and searched in Glasson at around 6pm.

A 23-year-old man was arrested but has since been released from custody and a file is being prepared for the DPP

Meanwhile in Galway, Gardaí are continuing to question a 47-year-old Vietnamese man who was arrested after €100,000 worth of cannabis plants were discovered in a house near Loughrea this morning.
