Gardaí name victims of Tralee house fire

Gardaí are working to establish the cause of a house fire in Co. Kerry early this morning, in which a man and his daughter were killed.

They have been named locally as 30-year-old Anthony O'Brien and five-year-old Nadine.

The blaze broke out at their home Killeen Heights in Trelee at around 2.20am.

Post-mortem examinations are due to take place later on the bodies.

The child's mother escaped the blaze after jumping from an upstairs window and it is understood she is being treated in hospital after she sustained a broken leg.

Gardaí are carrying out a technical examination of the scene, but say initial indications are that the fire was an accident.
