Gardaí launch investigation after discovery of teen's body in Monaghan flat

Gardaí have launched an investigation after the body of a young man was found in Monaghan.

At approximately 12pm this afternoon - the body of a 19-year-old man was discovered at an apartment in Emyvale in Co. Monaghan.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination - and the teenager's body has been removed to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, where a post mortem examination is expected to be carried out tomorrow.

Gardaí said that they are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the man's death.

It is believed he had been involved in a fight in a nightclub in Omagh in Co. Tyrone on Sunday night.
