Gardaí investigating alleged rape on ship in south-east on Christmas Day

Gardaí are investigating an alleged rape on a female which occurred in the south east of the country on Christmas day.

The confirmation follows a report that a man was arrested in relation to an alleged rape before being released without charge on Sunday.

The woman was reportedly attacked aboard a ship sometime between midnight and 5am.

The incident is currently being investigated by Gardaí.
