Gardaí investigate 'punishment beating' in Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating an alleged Real IRA punishment attack that resulted in a man being shot.

Officers were called to the scene on Stradbrook Lane in Saggart yesterday where they discovered a man with a serious injury to the hand.

The victim, who is in his late 20s, was brought to Tallaght Hospital for treatment, and an investigation has been launched.

So far, no arrests have been made.
