Gardaí investigate horrific killing of horse in Dublin

The DSPCA has said it is shocked and appalled by the horrific killing of a horse in Dublin today.

It is understood the animal was doused with petrol and set alight in an area adjacent to the Luas in Tallaght.

Gardaí are investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Five other horses which were also in the vicinity at the time of the attack have now been moved to safety.

The DSPCA's Gillian Bird says she has never seen such levels of deliberate and depraved cruelty.
