Gardaí investigate Finglas shooting

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating a shooting incident in Finglas yesterday morning.

Two men, travelling in a car on Hampton Wood Road, were shot at by a man who was travelling in another car.

The men were not injured in the incident.

The gunman was travelling in a blue Chevrolet Lacetti Estate which was later found burned out on St Margaret's Road.

Gardaí are appealing for information about the car which was stolen in Howth on September 29.

In a separate unrelated search of a house in the Dunsink area of Finglas yesterday evening, gardaí found a handgun, ammunition and around €3,000 worth of cocaine.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and is being questioned by gardaí at Blanchardstown under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

He can be detained for up to a maximum period of 72 hours.
