Gardaí investigate as body of man in his 60s is found in West Cork

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a body in a rural area outside Dunmanway in West Cork.

The remains are that of a man understood to be in his late 60s, believed to have died more than a week ago.

The discovery was made early this morning and a full post mortem examination will be carried out at Cork University Hospital.

Gardaí say they are keeping an open mind about the cause of death, however the scene has been sealed off for examination.
