Gardaí in Cavan investigate aggravated burglary

Gardaí in Cavan are investigating an aggravated burglary at a shop in Co Cavan during which a female member of staff was tied up and locked in a store room.

Two men - believed to have been armed with iron bars - entered the premises in Virginia at around 10pm last night and demanded money.

They made off with a small amount of cash in a white Peugeot can with reflective stripes.

The scene is being examined this morning and Bailieborough Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
