Gardaí continue to question man in connection with Drogheda assault

A man in his 30s remains in garda custody this morning in connection with a serious assault in Co. Louth.

A man in his 40s was found lying injured on a public green area adjacent to Sandyford Terrace and Marion Close in Drogheda at around 8.30am yesterday morning.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes' Hospital, where he is now said to be in a serious condition.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault, which they believe happened sometime between 2am and 8am yesterday morning, to contact Drogheda Garda Station.
