Gardaí charge 60-year-old man arrested during Dublin drug seizure

Gardaí have seized almost a quarter of a million euro worth of cannabis herb in Dublin.

Officers from the Revenue Commissioners Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau seized around 12kgs of the drug at Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.

They said the drugs are estimated to be worth €240,000.

They arrested a man, aged 60, during the raid and held him at Swords Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

He has been charged with drug trafficking offences and appeared before Dublin District Court where he was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court tomorrow morning.
