A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman in North Kerry.
The body of a woman in her 50s was found in the bedroom of a house in Lixnaw, near Listowel, around 9am this morning.
It is understood she was found by a neighbour, and had suffered head injuries.
A full Garda investigation is now underway into her death.
The State Pathologist will carry out a post mortem, and the scene is being preserved for a forensic examination.
Gardaí say a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the woman's death, and he is being questioned at Listowel Garda Station.
He is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act, which means he can be detained for up to 24 hours.
