Gardaí arrest man in Dublin after gun find

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in Dublin, after Gardaí carried out a search of the car he was driving in the city this morning.

The Garda Emergency Response Unit at Temple Street stopped and searched the man's car shortly before 11am.

A 9 millimetre pistol was uncovered during the operation.

The driver was arrested at the scene and is being detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
