Gardaí arrest man in connection with robbery involving iron bar

A man has been arrested following a robbery in Co. Kildare yesterday.

Two men, aged 18 and 20, were approached by another man with an iron bar in Langton Park, Green Road, Newbridge, at around 4.45am yesterday morning.

The man threatened the two men and took their mobile phones before escaping.

Gardaí were contacted, and they arrested a suspect after a search of the area. The stolen property was also recovered.

A 19-year-old man was taken to Newbridge Garda station where he was detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He was charged and bailed to appear before Naas District Court on September 22, 2016.
