Gardaí arrest man in connection with pub shooting

A 30-year-old man was arrested and a firearm seized today after another man was shot outside a pub.

The attack took place at the Cottage Inn in Kilmainham, Dublin at about midnight yesterday.

The injured man, who had been in the pub where mourners from a funeral gathered, suffered only superficial wounds.

He was taken to St James’s Hospital and later released.

During a follow-up operation a 30-year-old man was detained at Kevin Street Garda Station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Gardaí at Kevin Street and Kilmainham are investigating.
