Gardaí appeal for witnesses to taxi driver's stabbing in car jacking

Gardaí in Dublin are continuing their investigations after a taxi driver was stabbed during a car jacking in Swords over the weekend

The driver in his 30s picked up two male passengers at Airside Retail Park at approximately 3am on Saturday morning.

He was assaulted and stabbed a number of times, but managed to escape and raise the alarm before he was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.

Both suspects drove off in the taxi, a 10-D registered grey Ford Mondeo that was later found burnt out near Bellewstown in County Meath.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
