Gardaí appeal for witnesses to assault on Dollymount Strand

Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a man on Dollymount Strand Tuesday night.

A group of men approached a couple as they were walking on the beach at around 8pm.

They took the man's sunglasses off his head which resulted in a confrontation. Four other men were involved and the man was injured.

He was taken to Beaumont Hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Five men were later arrested.

Gardaí at Clontarf are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
