Garda injured in Dublin shooting

A member of the Gardaí has been injured in a shooting incident in Dublin.

The Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy has condemned the attack which happened in Clondalkin.

At around 1.15am this morning an incident occured at a house on Greenfort Close in Clondalkin.

Three gardaí attended the scene and while speaking to a resident a number of shots were fired through the front door.

One of the gardaí received minor injuries.

The Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy described it as a deplorable act that put the lives of Gardai and members of the public at risk.

Gardaí at Ronanstown are appealing for any witnesses to the attack to come forward.
